The book is also available in:

The book, published by No Starch Press, focuses on explaining the theory and principles that rule the world of LEGO mechanisms, while providing plenty of practical examples. With over 350 pages printed in full color, showing more than 500 figures and 40 building instructions, the book should be helpful to any LEGO Technic enthusiast, regardless of his building skills.
While the book uses vehicular LEGO models as primary examples, the theoretical knowledge and working principles it describes can be applied to any sort of mechanism. The 20 chapters start simple for first-time builders, but quickly move to advanced material. The book covers subjects like:
- gear wheels and gear ratios
- levers and linkages
- pneumatics and custom pneumatic devices
- LEGO motors and their characteristics
- suspension and transmission systems
- the modern LEGO Power Functions system and its elements
- reinforcing your builds
- studfull system vs. studless system
- methods of scaling and modeling of various vehicles, from bikes to helicopters and airplanes, including challenges and opportunities that come with different types of vehicles
What the book does not include are complete instructions for any models that I have built. Instead, it introduces you to a vast array of mechanisms and provides examples of how to use them in your own constructions.
Eric Albrecht (Blakbird), the world-renowned collector and expert on LEGO Technic, has provided technical review of the book, and it comes with a foreword by Fernando Correia, the TechnicBRICKs editor-in-chief.
@Sariel
Oczywiście, jeżeli jakieś konstrukcje będą pokazane w kilku krokach, a nie po 1 klocku na stronę, to nie ma problemu. W końcu najlepiej się uczyć praktykując. Życzę powodzenia w sprzedaży.
@Zozoleon
Pozdrawiam
@Brickfan
It has nothing to do with me, but I was told by the publisher that the book should be available in November. Amazon’s system for predicting shipments is just messed up.
Hi
I received an email from amazon stating that the supplier of your book cannot deliver till early december. Is this anything to do with you, or just their supplier?
@Chris
There should be.
@hippotam
Dzięki. Amazon powinien wysyłać ją wcześniej – oni mają jakiś system przewidywania dostaw wyciągnięty z … 🙂
@Chris
It was in the original post Sariel wrote about this book, there will be.
No lekka kiszka z tą książką jest. W Empiku niedostępna, na Amazonie dostępna od 30 listopada, na allegro nie słyszeli jeszcze. Mam nadziejęże pod choinkę będzie można kupić. Gratulacje, tak w ogóle. Że też ci się chciało 🙂
Good job! Will there be an ebook (e.g. Amazon Kindle) available soon?
@Andy
From what I know, they should have it in stock and ship it earlier.
@Sariel
Hi Sariel, I’m looking forward to the book. I am a bit disappointed that Amazon emailed me about a week ago to say that it won’t be dispatched until December 1st. They list it with a publication date of 30 Nov 2012. Keep up the good work
@mega007
That’s weird, given the Amazon publication date of October 30th.
Just FYI: I pre-ordered the book from amazon quite some time ago. The initial delivery date was supposed to be in the beginning of November. Now they claim that it will ship begining/mid December…
@HUMBLET
No.
BONJOUR EST CE QUE VOTRE LIBRE EST FRANCAIS MERCI
@gabry
It is. The Italian version is an option that depends on response from publishers in Italy.
I’d like an italian version too, but I’ve just made the pre-order on amazon. Is it going to be available in november?
@arky
That depends on the publishers in Italy.
Italian language is possible?
@Erick villa
I don’t know if it’s going to be translated at all.
when does it is going to be translated to spanish?
Definitley buying. I was hoping for a section about use use of hamsters for technic creations.
@Erick villa
Then you can order it from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Unofficial-LEGO-Technic-Builders-Guide/dp/1593274343/
in what countries will sell the book?
im from mexico
Exactly two months, from today. Can’t wait!
@Stastar
Someone has already translated it into Chinese. And you’re making a lot of errors in English.
Hi,
Due language differnt. I try to translater your gear tutorial into chinese. then more chinese lego funs can enjoy your experience sharing. Hope can get your approval!
Besides, do you have plan to translater your new book into chinese? Can I try?
Thanks
@bob
My Aliens APC is going to be 4x4x4.

@bob
I will not build it because I don’t want to. End of story.
but you can just made the vehicle, or not? why not?
@bob
I have no interest in Halo.
why not? a 4x4x4 vehicle is cool!
@bob
No.
hello, could you make a halo warthog? like this –> http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&q=halo+warthog&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&biw=1280&bih=660&wrapid=tlif134497087440110&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=f6AqUKP5NaGm0QXV2oEg
sorry for the big link.
@SNAKEHIT78
I design by assembling. Creating instructions would take much more time than building and I don’t have that time. It’s my hobby, not a business.
Hello, I’ve just discovered your site and MOC’s, and most of them are wonderful! Just one question, why don’t you try to publish or sell instructions to build the models you’ve done? There are many people who would pay for it, I think, me the first!
Did you ever think to this? Do you designed your models by computer or directly by assembling?
Sorry for my english, I’m french, and thank you for your amazing MOCs
@Ken Liebgott
Thanks. The question about the S motor should be directed to the LEGO Company.
Now that there are:
PF XL Motor
PF L Motor
PF M Motor
When will there be a PF S motor?
Pre-ordered your book a month ago and hope to see it soon. I expect that it will be very popular and I will show it to many people I know here in Taiwan who are also LEGO addicts. I believe that you will become wildly famous and your book will be translated into many languages.
I just pre ordered one.
@Mladen Horvatic
Yes.
Will the new PF L and servo motors be covered?
@The_Angry_Saxon
It will be available only in English. That’s why it has, you know, an English title.
Will this book be available in English? Just wondering, because this book would be a massive help to me 🙂
@joshwd
It shows some models, but not instructions for them.
yay this looks really good, does it contain any models as well as bits and bobs?
@robbe
Check the Amazon links above.
Hi, your book is also available in belgium? grt
Can’t wait!
3 more months…
@TECHNICer
So, 18 months of my work is not worth a single penny to you. Thanks.
@PlayerWithoutName
Będzie o dziesięciobiegowej, ale żadna z moich skrzyń nie ma wstecznego.
@TECHNICer
I can give you cover photo for free 😛
Sariel, będzie coś o ośmiobiegowej skrzyni biegów z biegiem wstecznym?
@Sariel
I want it, but I want it for free.
@Cody
Did you try clicking the Amazon link?
Sariel, do you have a price range for this book yet?
Sariel, will people in the U.S.A be able to purchase your book in stores?
It is lovely that I have found a source of excellent model making abilities who is willing to share his expertise 🙂 Thanks a lot. I will be buying the book too 🙂
@TECHNICer
You can’t be serious.
Please,
will the book be free downloadable?
Wow man, never would’ve expected to see a book upon your release! I am pumped to see all of what it entails. This book looks great from the front cover. I am anticipating what it offers in terms of step-by-step instructions, hopefully! Keep up the great work. Cheers.
@bob
No.

It’s all just an estimate. The 256 pages is the estimated minimum.
How many pages will the book have finally? You talk about >300, while the pages you link state it’s 256.
@Alex
Not exactly.
Congrats ! I have read that “you prompted the LEGO company to use your help in developing some of its products” .. do you have confidential info on future Lego Technic products .. ??
@Parda
Ups.. I don’t manage to add the link as trackback ^^
For sure this will be a great book!!

@Technikfreak
That’s what the text above says.
Where can i buy it ?? 😀
I don’t personally expect to learn much from this book, but I definitely shall buy it. And who knows? I could have been oblivious to some idea, and it’s always good to see how other people do things.
I just ordered mine from amazon.ca. You have given so many tricks to us that is normal to show you our appreciation! Waiting for October to read your book!
@Lasse Rasmussen
“The book will also be available as an ebook.” Also. Not only.
