These are dark grey short shock absorbers. They have nothing to do with the Offroader set, and they are of medium stiffness when it comes to shock absorbers. Light grey ones are softer, yellow ones are harder.

Dosen't the RPM of a PF XL or M-Motor run slower, because of the current is at 7.4v instead of the regular 9v of the battery box?

are the shock absorbers the same strength as the ones from the 8297 (offroader) or are they the weaker ones from smaller sets(light grey colour)? It seems a bit difficult to determine because of there colour appearing brownish and unfamiliar. It will help alot because i would like to replicate this design in some way and i am unsure whether my shock absorbers will support the model's arsenal of power functions etc.

i think it might be because lego thinks your ideas are too complicated, or use discontinued parts.

Thanks. It will be purely PF, although possibly with a little bonus.

It's nice to see that you will start on the Caterpillar 740 soon, will there be any NXT in this model or will it be purely Power functions? Thanks in advance and good luck with this one :)

Love your stuff and creative attitude. I am at a point where i keep rebuilding the same verhicle basically because there is so much to perfect. And each time i perfect it the bar gets put higher. And the more 'perfect' it gets the harder it becomes to take it apart again. Taking some pictures and a movie does help though :).
