    It will work on 4×4 vehicle as well as on 10×10, any type you want.

  3. Manne
    December 20th, 2009 at 13:02 | #3

    @Sariel

    Yes like there but with a 4×4 vehicle. Does it work in a 4×4 or has it to little steering?

    December 19th, 2009 at 18:44 | #8

    @legobuilder
    It’s possible in dozens of ways, there’s even my own design on this very website, but I think this one is the best: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=399284

    December 5th, 2009 at 02:42 | #19

    @Alexi-l
    There is the currently building section right up there. But I’d rather keep it the way it is, I feel current stage doesn’t really give you the real insight into the building process, while it takes my time to think of what to name the thing I’m doing right now. I can post estimated completion times instead, would that be helpful?

  20. Alexi-l
    December 5th, 2009 at 02:33 | #20

    After the photo-update of the bucket wheel excavator the “current stage” part of the “currently building” section seems to have disappeared 🙁
    Would it be possible to reinstate it?
    Or even better, add a more precise ECT eg tomahawk- 18/02/2010

    Needless to say a great job once more with the Scania 🙂

  21. Sariel
    December 4th, 2009 at 17:12 | #21

    @arnau
    It’s going to be more complex than I thought, so I don’t think I can finish it this month, January is much more possible. I wanted to finish this year with the Dodge Tomahawk, which is much simpler so it can be completed before the end of December.

    Have you ever tried building a construction grader such as the CAT 140H. Should be quite a challenge with all the power in the back and multiple mechanisms at the blade and on the front axel. Probably only possible using lots of pneumatics?

    November 24th, 2009 at 21:14 | #37

    November 24th, 2009 at 10:55 | #38

    @icanhaslego
    Update: I will now have to spend some time taking apart the Scania and the remains of the big excavator. The good news is that the Reventon is very likely to get an automated CVT gearbox (first tests look very promising), and that I have a remote-controlled 3-speed gearbox to show sometime soon.

    November 21st, 2009 at 21:43 | #46

    Hi, I am from guatemala and I was researching in you tube about a lego gearbox,I found the 2 speed authomatic gearbox you made and found it interesting, then I followed the track till this web page; it is amazing all the work you have done! specially the trucks. Here at my contry it is very hard to improve yourself because there is very few lego models at sale and they are quite expensive. I´ve been working on a “main” proyect as you call it which is a Land Rover, and i have other proyects in process like an audi r8. It is very nice to find someone else who is interested in the functionality and “real looking” of its models! I´m glad that you have professionalized your way in this hobby, and that you share to all of us your amazing work! thank you.

  50. Sariel
    November 20th, 2009 at 20:45 | #50

    I just got the parts I needed, and if everything goes well I suppose it should be published on Sunday.

    How is it going with the dumptruck.

  52. Sariel
    November 16th, 2009 at 23:45 | #52

    @RjbsNXT
    Update: the last technical difficulties in the truck seem to be solved, but it appears I’m going to need some extra parts to finish the cargo case. I have already ordered these parts and made some arrangments to have them delivered quickly, but if they’re not delivered before the weekend then the truck will have to wait until next week.

  53. RjbsNXT

  54. Sariel
    November 16th, 2009 at 08:36 | #54

    It’s going so well that it’s very, very likely to be finished this weekend.

  55. RjbsNXT
    November 16th, 2009 at 01:27 | #55

    just a quick comment to ask how the dump truck was coming on 🙂

  56. legokid
    November 12th, 2009 at 22:03 | #56

    OK. I was just asking. 🙂

  57. Sariel
    November 11th, 2009 at 12:01 | #57

    @Lasse
    I thought about it, but it would slow down the building process and that’s something bad, especially for small models that take little time to build. Besides I often change things while building, so I would have to pay extra attention to whether I’m taking photos of something ultimately complete or not.

  58. Lasse
    November 11th, 2009 at 11:48 | #58

    I would really love that you kept on posting “currently building” pictures of all models you are building.

  59. Sariel
    November 10th, 2009 at 22:31 | #59

    @legokid
    I could, but I think the truck can be completed in just two weeks, so I’d rather focus on finishing it and taking photos of a complete truck.

  60. legokid
    November 10th, 2009 at 22:25 | #60

    Coude you post photos of your curently building dump truck.

  61. Sariel
    November 8th, 2009 at 19:35 | #61

    @Lasse
    It’s going to stay there but it will be enclosed inside operator’s cabin.

  62. Lasse
    November 8th, 2009 at 19:01 | #62

    one qiustion: the xl motor that drives the bucket wheel is it gonna be positioned another place later in the building process, or is it gonna stay were it is (dosent look very good right now)

  63. Sariel
    November 7th, 2009 at 23:45 | #63

    @owen
    I’m pretty sure it will be finished this month. The work is going much faster now that I got the new turntable in place.

    =@RjbsNXT
    I have to build some aesthetic stuff around the bucket wheel too. Like the operator’s cabin (with lights) and a couple of catwalks. I want to put some actual minifigs in there.
    The piece that makes the front cordage is a 16-studs long link (the longest one available).

    @william
    I have already been suggested the Ripsaw, thank you. At the moment I have no plans for such model.

  64. william

    Just the conveyor belt and top truss?

  69. icanhaslego

    funnily enough, that doesn’t suprise me 😉

  70. Manne
    November 6th, 2009 at 14:32 | #70

    @Sariel

    You´re right. I´m almost finnished with the corr chassi today. Reurn-to-center to, but i´m working at at the back suspension. Then i going to build a rollcage an body of studded panels. It´s quite small, im using the wheels of the new lego quadbike. Im not really sure yet if it´s going to be remotecontrolled. Time will tell.

  71. Sariel
    November 6th, 2009 at 13:06 | #71

    @Manne
    Well, these pickups don’t look very different from a corr truck. I’ll have to think about it in future.

    I think there are some 200 links in the belt, but I didn’t have to order them. You know I love tanks, so I had plenty of links already 🙂

  74. icanhaslego
    November 6th, 2009 at 03:39 | #74

    the new pictures look excellent- i’m looking forward to seeing the convener belt in action. how many links did you have to order for it?

  75. Sariel
    November 6th, 2009 at 00:12 | #75

    @Manne
    Perhaps. I think such a truck could be successfully used in the Truck Trial, so this is actually quite a good idea, thank you. The only vehicles I’m planning to use in the Trial are Hummer and Rosomak, so it’s good to have a third one in mind.

  76. Manne
    November 5th, 2009 at 21:14 | #76

    @Sariel

    yes, they are a quite similar to a monstertruck (which i´m looking forvard to) but not much. If you have time over maybe??
    I have built a corr chassie today but it has not steering yet.

  77. Sariel
    November 5th, 2009 at 20:59 | #77

    @Manne
    Thanks, good to know. However, I still think that such a truck would be essentially quite similar to a monster truck I’m going to build sometime in the future.

  78. Manne
    November 5th, 2009 at 20:40 | #78

    @Sariel

    Corr trucks are not realy a buggy. They are bulit on a toyota tundra or chvevrolet silverado. So they are not buggies.

  79. Sariel
    November 4th, 2009 at 15:16 | #79

    @manne
    The way I see it’s just another type of buggy, and I’ve built plenty of buggies already.

    Not only Reventon is started, but the excavator is back whole & up again. However, I have to finish Scania before Reventon.

  84. icanhaslego
    November 3rd, 2009 at 04:22 | #84
